March 8, 2021 Over the last several weeks, I have discussed my love for Zinsser Wood Bleach. It is an amazing product that really works. I used it after refinishing our heirloom cedar hope chest and now I just completed a new project that I'm going to share with you today! I'm sharing how to refinish, bleach, and whitewash wood furniture.

Wipe it down with water or mineral spirits on a clean, soft rag, then go over every surface with a dry cloth. Wait a day or two for it to dry thoroughly before bleaching. DON'T expect all wood.

Mix about a quart of chlorine bleach (Clorox, Purex, etc.) to each gallon of water. Use a syntheticbristle brush and scrub the surface with the bleach mixture. Be sure to wear goggles—it's easy to splash. Reapply the bleach if necessary in order to keep the surface wet for about 15 minutes.

Step 1. Start by lifting the globe from the wooden base in order to separate the two pieces. Don't get rid of the globe! We are still going to use it. Step 2. Next, you need to spray the wood with a thick even coat of heavy-duty Easy-Off oven cleaner and then let it sit.
